The IWFS Vancouver Chapter welcomed Gary Vincent from the New Orleans Chapter in style at Le Gavroche with a fine selection of food and wine. Although Gary 's wife Kathy could not attend, friend Barbara Clark joined our group of eighteen members and guests for an informal evening where we each provided a bottle of wine for a very enjoyable - and sometimes noisy! - dinner.

Manuel Ferreira provided an excellent dinner, as always, starting with canapés at the reception (Charles Casanove Brut), followed by a delicious Pistachio Crusted Fresh Halibut with Baby Bok Choy and Vanilla Sauce and Seaweed Caviar (1993 Clos du Val Chardonnay from a double magnum, 2002 Ferrari Carano Chardonnay). Next came Duck Liver Paté and Foie Gras Torchon with Onion Marmalade and Raisin Pear Chutney (2000 MacMurray Russian River Pinot Noir, 2002 Doudet Naudin Beaune 1ière Cru "Les Grèves" and 1986 Ch. Loupiac-Gaudiet) and Braised Local Lamb Shank with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Lamb Chops Rosemary Jus (1975 Ch. Calon-Ségur, 1995 Gabriel Liogier Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 2002 Burrowing Owl Merlot, and 2000 Black Hills Nota Bene). To finish, we enjoyed White Peach Cobbler with Hazelnut Ice Cream (1998 Quails' Gate Riesling Icewine) followed by coffee and a very fine magnum of 1977 Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port.
