Our Vancouver Branch departed from its usual style of events to join the Italian Top Chef Showcase at the Fairmont Pacific Rim for a dinner sponsored by the Italian Chamber of Commerce. Following a reception with Italian sparkling wines and a prodigious selection of cheeses and salumi, Chef Angus An demonstrated his preparation of the first course of Albacore Tuna Crudo followed by Chef Pino Posteraro and his second course of Heirloom Tomato & Garden Vegetable Crudaiola both dishes were very tasty.

The dinner continued with Chef Nathan Brown's Risotto al Salto with Veal and a Braised Angus Reserved Short Rib with Truffle Polenta followed by a Selection of Italian DOP and IGP Cheeses and Chef Jeffry Kahle's Tiramisu dessert.

Our thanks go to Ilaria Baldan, Executive Director of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West, who arranged for our IW&FS attendance at this showcase event featuring products especially flown in from Italy.
