For members who haven't visited the wineries of the Fraser Valley before, the visit was a pleasant surprise!
Our day started with a visit with David and Liz Avery and a tasting of the inaugural wines of Lotusland Vineyards with their unique People, Places and Things labels.
Next we visited Corey and Gwen Coleman at Township 7, whose 2001 Chardonnay was presented to the Olympic Committee at a dinner earlier this year. “Clearly a rising star” says wine author John Schreiner.
Noon saw us at Claude and Inge Violet’s Domaine de Chaberton, pioneers of the Langley vineyards, where we sat down to a fine multi-course lunch with wines at Bacchus Bistro. Chef Frederic Desbiens selected a fine menu for us!
Our afternoon visits included Glenugie winery after which we adjourned to the Chocolate Cottage for a personalized tour of the small factory and a tasting of fine chocolates and fudge. A sweet finish!
