Many of the tasty foods of Italy come from the province of Emilia-Romagna and we had the opportunity to taste them at a special dinner arranged with the Italian Chamber of Commerce at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. Our evening started with glasses of Nespolino trebbiano and chardonnay white and Daphne Malvasia sparkling wine from Medici Ermete in Emilia-Romagna and a demonstration of pasta making together with a selection of salumis and prosciutto di Parma and a whole round of Parmigiano Reggiano, which was opened with grand ceremony as we watched. Our meal included a black garlic risotto, rigatoni pasta with Bolognese sauce, pork tenderloin in prosciutto and a selection of tasty gelatos, all accompanied with copious quantities of Emilia-Romagna red and white wine.
